Betsie asked her daughter's friend to fold an origami flower as a painting subject when the kids were in 4th grade. The paper flower arrived with a small scuff and piece of tape on its stem to prevent it from falling. Betsie included the tape and small tear in the painting because those imperfections give us character. Sometimes, despite our flaws, we stand tall and ask to be seen.
