Betsie imagined this mannequin came to life and fell in love with the paint brush that helped to create him. The creative process can feel lonely, desperate and out of sync with what we perceive as the "real" world. Artists must fall in love with their work in order to keep pursuing it when the outside world does not appear to give us permission.
